The short version: The Worshiper is a locally-stored app. Your team data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it. We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not monetize it in any way.

This Privacy Policy describes how The Worshiper ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application ("App") and marketing website located at theworshiper.app ("Site"). By using our App or Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Data We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use the App or join our waitlist, you may provide:

  • Email address – only when you voluntarily sign up for our waitlist or contact us.
  • Team and service information – including band rosters, song lists, schedules, and notes you create within the App. This data is stored locally on your device only.
  • Contact form submissions – if you reach out through our website, we collect your name, email, and message content.

Automatically Collected Information (Website)

When you visit our website, our hosting provider may automatically collect standard web access logs, including:

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website

This data is used solely for security monitoring and aggregate analytics. We do not use this information to identify individuals.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

  • Payment or financial information (no paid plans currently)
  • Location data
  • Biometric data
  • Device contacts
  • Church member personal information entered into the App

How We Store Data

Fully Local & Private: All data you enter in the App is stored exclusively on your device using your phone's local storage. There are no cloud servers, no external databases, and no remote backups managed by us.

This means:

  • We cannot access, view, or modify your team data.
  • If you uninstall the App, your data will be removed from your device.
  • We strongly recommend you keep your device backed up (e.g., via iCloud or Google Drive) to prevent data loss.

Waitlist emails and contact form submissions are stored on our secure, encrypted servers and are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Use Data

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Send early access notifications to waitlist subscribers
  • Respond to customer support and general inquiries
  • Improve the functionality and performance of the App and Site
  • Ensure security and prevent fraudulent activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

We will never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. Period.

Third-Party Services

We use a minimal set of trusted third-party services to operate our website and waitlist communications:

  • Email delivery provider – to send waitlist confirmation and launch notification emails. Your email address is shared only with this provider for the purpose of delivering messages.
  • Web hosting – our website is hosted on a reputable, security-compliant hosting provider.

All third-party providers we work with are contractually obligated to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

The App itself does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing SDKs.

Children's Privacy

The Worshiper is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@theworshiper.app and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction – Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion – Request that we delete your personal information (e.g., remove your email from our waitlist).
  • Portability – Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection – Object to our processing of your data for marketing purposes.
  • Withdrawal of Consent – Unsubscribe from our waitlist at any time using the link in any email we send you.

Our website uses only essential cookies necessary for the site to function (such as session identification). We do not use:

  • Tracking or advertising cookies

The App itself does not use any cookies or web-based tracking technologies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify waitlist subscribers via email for material changes
  • Post a notice in the App for significant changes affecting App users

By downloading, installing, or using The Worshiper App or accessing our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use our services.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use The Worshiper only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe the rights of others. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or offensive purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the App
  • Use the App to harass, threaten, or harm other individuals
  • Distribute or sell copies of the App without our written permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

We reserve the right to terminate access to our services for users who violate these terms.

Intellectual Property

The Worshiper, its logo, design, code, and content are the exclusive intellectual property of The Worshiper and its creators. All rights reserved.

  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Content you create within the App (team data, song lists, schedules) remains entirely yours. We claim no ownership over user-generated content.
  • You may not use our brand name, logo, or assets without written permission.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Important: The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We do not guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
  • We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from device failure, App bugs, or uninstallation.
  • We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
  • Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to liability (which, during the free beta, is $0).
